R.I.P. Jack Palance

(February 18, 1919 - November 10, 2006)

Jack Palance aka. Curly Washburn from City Slickers, while surrounded by family, died of natural causes yesterday. He was 87.

Palance was a heavyweight boxer back in the 40s before being drafted into WWII where he suffered burns to his face in a B-24 accident. After several surgeries, he was discharged, and subsequently received the purple heart. He went on to have a very long and famous movie career, eventually winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1991 for City Slickers.
