VICTORY!

The Democrats have handily taken the House and are (with 2 states still out) split in the Senate. Potentially, we could have an advantage in both bodies, and I am excited. I can't wait to see what happens now. Bush is already seemingly backing down and trying to build the bridges he's burned in time to save himself [via Reuters]. I'm not sure it is going to do any good at this point. All the Democrats on TV are pretty much pissing in their pants they're so excited, calling this "the day they've been waiting for for years", so I assume there's going to be at least a few legislative bitch slaps in the future. Boy, Eugene is going to be annoying for a few weeks. Whatever, I'll take it. Here's to being a Democrat.

dont get to happy. giving the majority to the democrats is only giving them a chance to screw things up as bad as republicans. a chance im sure their up to.
handing both the house and the senate to one group democrats or republicans is a bad idea.

The people have finally repudiated the monarchy!! Most satisfying election in years, nationally and locally. Don't tell me voting doesn't matter. If we care, we can change democracy and be a part of a better solution. I am proud to be among the pragmatic moderates who have spoken loud and clear to neuter King George. Now Justice Stevens can retire without fear that our Supreme Court will be kidnapped.
