X Men: The Last Stand kills at the box office

I am very surprised to see these numbers from this movie. X Men: The Last Stand (my review here) made over $103 million in its opening weekend ($103,125,000), making it the 4th largest opening weekend gross in history. If you include Memorial Day and call it a holiday weekend, it's estimated to make $120 million. Here are the top 5 weekend grossings all-time. Click the image to see the whole list.

This was a surprise to pretty much everybody. I knew people wanted to see it, I just didn't think they wanted to see it this much. I guess they'll be making a fourth now for sure, they'd be stupid not to. Anyways, just thought that was interesting.

This wasn't a suprise to me Kevin, not at all. The first 2 movies were very good and so fans of those movies were eagerly anticipating the third one. Those people were probably talking up the movie a whole bunch to their friends and so that made their friends want to go and see the movie too. Even though this one was the worst of the 3, I still would not be suprised if the fourth surpassed the thrid in box office gross. Thats enough for me, goodnight.

Well, sure, people wanted to see it, but I didn't think you could "talk a movie up" $120 million. That's all I'm saying.
