My New Favorite Whiskey: The Knot

The whiskey is "The Knot". It's Irish, it's 100 proof, and it's got the best ad campaign. It's spokesman is "Mickey", and he tells it like it is to a real drinker. I haven't tried it yet, it's not sold in Oregon (or so says the OLCC), but I really want a bottle. Check out the awesome Flash-based website for the streaming TV spots and the equally as awesome print ads (that I hope to be seeing soon). You can also check out the commercials on YouTube here. Below are my favorite print ad and my 2 favorite commercials.

Man, I love whiskey, and I really want a shot of this.

I have tried it, loved it, wondered about it, suffered from it, bought it and I am wondering ever since.
I think it is actually not whiskey. Too sweet and smoothe. It's what girls would love as a whiskey.
It gives you nasty hangovers different from real whiskey.
I search the internet for it and do not find a hint of its distillery or whats in it. Which makes me believe it is some clever marketing campaign for a liqueur harder than Drambuie but softer than real Whiskey.

Big fan of Irish Whiskey. Was able to say I like all Irish Whiskey until I tried The Knot. It is horribly sweet and has an overpowering vanilla note.

I have yet to find a mixer that can overpower The Knot. I tried it with cream soda tonight, and that was almost tolerable.

The commercials are great, love the codger in them, and they got me to buy The Knot once... just once.

I ordered the bottle. This was after trying to find information about the distillery. I paid roughly 38 shipped. The sad result. I'd be better off finding a cheap scotch. If you drink any whiskey, and cannot taste some essence of the barley, It means to me.. A horde of sugar, or flavoring has been added to cover a mistake. In my collection, the Knot is my sexiest bottle, but remains the most cough syrupy tasting drink in my possession. I don't mean to crap on the dream, but when no information can be gathered on the distillery, that could be for a reason.

The knot blows, It's knot a whiskey, knot at all. It's a girls drink. I couldn't even stand to finnish the glass, I tossed it down the drain and gave the rest of the bottle to the girl across the street.

It says on the bottle to drink it from a shot glass.

Therefore it is a not intended to be a sipper.

There's no disputing taste. Experiments have demonstrated humans do not all experience the same sensations when tasting various substances. One man's meat, etc. Fans think The Knot is delicious. If you disagree, you're not having the same taste experience as they are. I find one part The Knot, one part shot glass to be an ideal combination.

This is a delicious easy-drinking liquor. I throw like 3 or 4 ice cubes in rocks glass and it goes down oh so smooth. The floral aromas and subtle sweetness make for the most pleasurable sipping experience.

I just found a bottle in Portlanadia. William Grant and Sons dreamed up the sweet liqueur it is NOT irish whiskey. The make all kinds of crap including Tullamore Dew. SO read the label if it distributed by WG & Sons PUT IT DOWN.
