Viva Las Vegas

Vegas, baby! Vegas! If you haven't heard already, the University of Oregon football team accepted an invitation to play in the 15th annual Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl. The game will be December 21 in Sam Boyd Stadium against BYU on ESPN and ESPNHD, so mark your calendars and get your tickets and/or your high-def TV's now.

This is really the best thing that could have happened for the Ducks after that end of season skid because we'll be playing #20 BYU. We get one final shot to avenge the disappointment of the season, and it's against a ranked team! It's a win-not lose situation, because if we beat them, we beat a ranked team and prove we are still a damn good team, and if we lose, it's not that bad, because BYU was the favorite anyways. It's pretty much the opposite of our situation last year against Oklahoma in the Holiday Bowl.

We've been to the Las Vegas Bowl before, in 1997, and we kicked the piss out of Air Force 41-13. Let's go back and do it again. GO DUCKS!

Gee, it's like Ernie Kent is coaching like his job is on the line or something. Who knew?

Well, now that Moos has resigned, he really is coaching that way, because Moos was his biggest advocater. If Ernie doesn't have a big year, he's pretty much canned for sure. So far though, he's earning his keep. Hope it keeps up.

FYI, apparently tickets are now sold out. So you better hope for those HDTV's.
