Apple announced today that it is recalling 1.8 million Sony-built batteries used in its laptops. 9 reports of overheating, including 2 reports of minor burns, have caused the second largest recall of computer & electronics equipment in history. The largest you ask? Well that would be Dell's 4.1 million battery recall just 2 weeks ago. Those batteries were also made by Sony.

So, what are they going to do about it? Well, Japan has officially ordered Sony, the obvious party at fault here, to investigate the batteries, see what's causing them to overheat, and then fix it. Seems simple enough.
