New Poll: Summer Movies
As most, if not all of you know, I am really into movies. So it comes as no surprise that my new poll is about the movies coming out this summer. The question is: Which movies are the most anticipated of the summer? New to this poll, I've made it possible to click as many as you think apply, so hopefully I can get a better voter turnout this time, which will equal better results. The movies are all coming out this summer (May - August), the question is, which one's are you going to see? I realize you may not have heard of some of them, so I will include the movie poster that, when clicked on, links you to the trailer, and a brief description of each. They are also in order of when they will be released, if anyone cares. Anyways, here you go.
The Da Vinci Code:
Director: Ron Howard
Starring: Tom Hanks, Ian McKellen
You all know the story, since everyone on the planet has read the book, except me (I'm actually stalled halfway through). Looks great.
X Men III: The Last Stand:
Director: Brett Ratner (New to the X Men movies)
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and you know the rest.
You also know about this one, but basically it's an X Men war. It looks like the plot is so much more developed, and there is an actual story driving this one, not just a bunch of X Men running around.
Nacho Libre:
Director: Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite)
Starring: Jack Black
This is an odd looking movie about Jack Black as a mexican wrestler. It's done by the Napoleon Dynamite guy, so I expect good things.
Superman Returns:
Director: Bryan Singer (X Men 2)
Starring: Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, and Kevin Spacey
You know, it's Superman. Enough said. Who cares though? Superman movies went out with Christopher Reeves (R.I.P.), so it's going to take a lot of work to get me to like this one.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest:
Director: Gore Verbinski
Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley
The second installment of this ride-based story. Johnny Depp returns, and it will make a lot of money. It better be as good as the first though.
Miami Vice:
Director: Michael Mann
Starring: Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell
This adapted-from-the-tv-show movie better be good. It has the potential to be SO badass, and my top anticipated movie of the summer right now. We'll see what happens when more trailers come out.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby:
Director: Adam McKay (Anchorman)
Starring: Will Ferrell, Ali G, John C. Reilly, and Michael Clark Duncan.
This is the same group of guys that did Anchorman, and NASCAR has always been ripe for ripping on (although I do kind of like it), so I'm expecting big things out of this one. The trailer gives me lots of hope.
Broken Lizard's Beerfest:
Director: Jay Chandrasekhar
Starring: Will Forte and the usual Broken Lizard suspects.
There's no poster. There's no trailer. There's just the great idea for a movie that is being made by the perfect group. The story is: these guys all go to Germany and stumble upon an underground beer Olympics. What everyone has always talked about is finally coming to the big screen. I'm looking forward to this one.
So there you have it. You have all the information you need, now vote.
