Wow, was I wrong
Earlier this month, I said my most anticipated movie this summer was Miami Vice, but boy was I wrong. What I should have said was See No Evil with Kane (Yeah, the wrestler...) because it's getting the best reviews I've ever seen. Rotten Tomatoes (my movie review site of choice, if you didn't know), as of 11:00 tonight, has it at 0%. WOW! What a shocker, first of all, but even worse, I didn't and don't want to see it. With those kind of reviews, it's going to break box office record worldwide. Let me just say: unexpected. What a shitty movie, seriously.

Update, still at 0%
Hey, more telling is Da Vinci Code at 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was one of my most anticipated films of the year, and I left it sorely disapointed. Good thing I got that taste out of my mouth by doing two things.
1. Seeing Thank You For Smoking, easily one of the best satires I have ever seen.
2. Watching Boondock Saints on the Big screen today in a special very limited re-release. It was fan fucking tastic on the big screen, but now I have to go buy the re-release special edition on DVD tomorrow, even though I already own the original. Damn my stupid fanboyism. Damn it to hell.
Yeah, I am torn between buying it or just settling for my current un-uncut version. I'll have to see if it's worth it. If there is even one scene in the new one that is worth watching, I probably will. That was my philosophy with the unrated Dumb & Dumber that came out, and boy was that scene worth it. It expanded on the bath tub conversation during their "couples hotel" stay. I love Dumb & Dumber. I would love to see that on the big screen, but sure as hell am not counting on it.
I also heard Da Vinci Code was bad, but you know what? The book was good, so it doesn't matter. I just am not going to see it anymore. I'll wait for the illegal download...ahem, I mean DVD. Too bad it's tied for #1 most anticipated summer movie in my poll. Hopefully X Men, the co-leader, won't disappoint.
Just an update on See No Evil: still 0%. I think if it stays at 0%, it might be a Rotten Tomatoes record. I have never seen a single movie get lower than 5% (Big Momma's House 2), and if this movie can honestly be worse than that one, it deserves the record.
34 people say it's bad, 0 say it's good. Still at 0%.
Damn, it's up to 7%. Must be some Big Momma's House 2 fans out there after all.
