Ducks are Pac-10 Champs!

The Oregon Ducks are the 2007 Pac-10 Champions! Nobody could touch them during this entire tournament! Our average margin of victory in this thing was more than 20 points. It's hard to touch a team playing that well. We were on fire, both offensively and defensively, as we strung together easily the best 3 games we've played all season. Hopefully this is a sign that this team is peaking for the NCAA Tournament.

We played amazing! Not only did we win the tournament easily, but both Bryce Taylor and Aaron Brooks were named to the All-Tournament Team, true freshman Tajuan Porter was named tourney MVP, Bryce today set a tournament record going a perfect 11-11 from the field (he was 7-7 from 3 point land, 3-3 from the free throw line, and finished the game with a career high 32 points), Oregon as a team scored a tournament record 14 3 pointers, before we took the starters out tonight we were up by 39, and all the while we did this against 2 teams that will make that NCAA Tournament (Arizona and USC), and 1 that will make the NIT (Cal). Plus, we were in USC territory tonight (the Staples Center is literally 5 minutes from USC), we shut them up in a hurry. After the game, Nick Young said "It was embarrassing", and USC Head Coach Tim Floyd said "We won't be watching any film on this game". I love it!

An amazing weekend to say the least. Now comes the NCAA Tournament. Will T.P. be able to face his fear of heights again by climbing another monstrous ladder? Fingers crossed. But we did our part this weekend, earning an automatic bid as icing on the cake, and now it's all up to the selection committee to place us. We could be anywhere from a 5 seed to a 2 seed. I'd be much happier as a 2 seed, naturally, but really, I think if we're playing this well, it won't matter where we're put. But tomorrow is selection Sunday, so we'll see. I won't make any predictions now, but as soon as that bracket is out, I'll let you what I think about both the Ducks and the tournament field as a whole. GO DUCKS!
