Lyrics of the Day

I have decided to start another daily (or, in all honesty, more like bi-weekly) post, except this time, instead of just a Beatles fact (which, regrettably, I haven't done in a while), it's going to be interactive.

So here's the deal: I'm going to present 5 lines or phrases from 5 different songs, and you, fine readers, will compete with each other to see who can get the most correct. This being the first day and all, we're going to start out fairly easy with songs that everyone has heard. Put your answers in a comment, and each round there will be a winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be picked based on the correctness of their answers. That is, singer and song title. Answers will come in the next post. Eventually, I think I'll keep track of the winners in the sidebar. Anyways, here you go. Good luck.

Lyric #1:
"Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies."

Lyric #2:
"This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade"

Lyric #3:
"Someone told me long ago theres a calm before the storm,
I know its been comin for some time."

Lyric #4:
"She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories."

Lyric #5:
"Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didnt you?"

Well, maybe when I said easy, I meant you've heard it, and you'll go, "Oh, I know that song" when you find out what it is. That's more accurate I guess.
