Wal-Mart aims to change the way we light our homes

Yesterday, I read a story about how Wal-Mart plans to change the way we light our homes by selling each one of their customers a lightbulb. Now, that would mean 100 million lightbulbs. Wal-Mart is teaming up with GE to sell CFL lightbulbs which are much more energy efficient than standard incandescent bulbs, and last 8-10 times longer. Knowing this will canabalize business for both companies, they are doing it for the greater good, which you have to admire. Wal-Mart has been doing a lot of this "green" business lately, and it's getting harder and harder for people to hate them. This picture is from Wal-Mart yesterday. Selling lightbulbs at $.98 will certainly get a lot of people buying them, as standard bulbs are about $3 a piece. Read a really good article about it here.
